a photoblog tribute to the great tracy marie.

(this is a sketch by daVinci, so it probably isn't of tracy, but it can stand to represent the young ms.schann's beauty).

OK this will be a revolutionary blog-post -- posts from the comments, and my own witty and loving additions, interspersed with my favourite offerings from the wealth of photoblogs on the internet!!

ready?!

ok!!!

Trace... hmmm, what to type to YOU...wonderful you! in this seemingly small space- Happy Birthday 21 year old!!! You know what, I am going to be selfish and right off the bat tell you my wish for your birthday (hee hee!), I wish that the Lord would continue to USE and SHAPE you into the strong (in the Lord's stength kind of way) woman He is making you to be, so I can continue to be INSPIRED and ENCOURAGED and COMFORTED by such an genuine and simply lovely friend like YOU. I love YOU Tracy Schaan and today I celebrate having you as a friend in my heart, as well as the fact that you were born today (so many years ago)! Thank you for being you...you are perfect just the way you are (period!). Love: Mis

Wow!! 21yrs ago I (with a little help from some medical folks)delivered an amazing, bubbly, bouncy, wonderful baby girl and what a fun-ride it has been watching you grow, teaching you and learning from you!! We are soooo proud to be your parents and you continue to surprise us with your sensitivity, caring, and jou de vivre. I read recently that Joy is the experience of knowing that you are unconditionally loved and that nothing-sickness, failure, emotional distress, oppression, war, or even death-can ever take that love away. Today our prayer is that you will continue to drink deeply from the wells of salvation and taste the goodness of Your Lord and have a continuing, deepening revelation of His tender love for YOU!!
May you continue to walk in His ways and out of your life in Him continue to be a blessing to those around you!!

AMEN

LOVE ALWAYS.
MOM AND DAD

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope that the year to come will be filled with many great memories. I appreciate your joy, smile, and your enthusiasm for life.
Have a wonderful birthday Tracy!
Love Kathryn

Alright, now it's my turn.

Tracy, hi! It's always a joy when I have friends whose families become part of my life as well -- that is one of the many blessings that my friendship with sister Melanie has brought.

I'm stoked that you and I are friends on facebook.com, although I'm not entirely certain why that makes me so happy. Facebook isn't the most intimate of places to grow a friendship, but it's a fun seeding ground, and a place to create inside jokes and look at cool pictures. And who could live without the pokes?

HMm...things I appreciate about you...
1. your style -- this may seem shallow, but it isn't. you have awesome style, and that is one of the things I admire in the people I know. I think it shows confidence, an artistic way of seeing the world, and a love and excitement for life, as expressed through what you wear everyday. rock on.

2. your smile -- really, JOYFUL!!! It's great. And you're beautiful too. Beautiful, joyful, and you show it off by smiling -- sweet.

3. we can be friends -- this is a big one. I appreciate that our relationship exists, and it has grown! I love that you've accepted me, even though we don't really live in the same city -- I am a person who loves to meet new people, and welcome them into my life, regardless of distance or other factors, and I'm glad that I've connected with you as a result of my move to Lethbridge.

Is 3 good for now? I think so. There's going to be potentially a lot of little gems of love for you to absorb on this blog, so I'll leave mine at that.

21 for me was a crazy age -- it's when I went back to school, and started creating goals and dreams and plans for myself. It was the last time in my 20's when I felt really young - at 22, I started to sense that I was a grown-up now, and had to begin to live and act accordingly. YIKES! So enjoy 21 for what it is. Don't look too far forward, or too far back -- this really is an exciting time in life! Allow yourself to be moved to tears and to laughter. Welcome the voice of God speaking about your future, and welcome the Holy Spirit to heal things that have happened in the past. Continue to move through each day with passion, joy, zest, hope, and an inquisitive mind. Don't be afraid to open yourself up to the people who love you, and know that being a woman who feels and thinks deeply is a beautiful thing.

Rock the whole year, not just your birthday -- let the people whose lives you impact and change love on you all the time -- receive the many gifts (in all shapes and sizes) that they desire to lavish upon you.

Most of all, cherish those moments in God's presence where he gets into your heart, and reminds you of who you are -- let those moments form your identity, your confidence, your hope, and your future.

Oh, and come visit me in Vancouver -- we'll have a super fun time.

love,

melinda

p.s. thanks for carrying my chicken. :)
